oh my dad and our model t club calls it low gear
66Lincoupe (October 13, 2008 at 11:26 am)
It's not low gear. The pedal on the left engages a forward clutch and a direct clutch; hence "clutch". When you step on the left pedal the T will move forward. If the lever to the left of the seat is in the mid-position and you release the pedal the T is in "neutral" If the lever is all the way forward and the pedal is released the transmission is in direct. The lever to the right (like a regular shifter) is for the two speed axle.

Is that a delivery truck Model T? Ford's flivver put your average Americans on wheels! And saved us from relying on the horse for transportation.

Oldschool, still the best car ever

The loud sound you are hearing is partially due to a Timing Chain. Today's Timing Belts are part of a planned obsolescence plan to destroy your engine's valves. And they do.

There is no gas pedal in a model T. There are three pedals: Brake, clutch, and reverse. |
