there's no doubt that rivaldo was the top player in the world...i agree zidane was a good player but no better than the legendary RIVALDO!!!

he made a good season at his first season at Olympiacos even scoring a 0-1 against livrpool at anfield.His next seasons weren't that good but he is still good enough to impress in Greece.Rivaldo a true world class only compared to Pele,Maradona and the best.

RVALDO was better than Zidane, he didnt have only 3-4 seasons!?. He was player of world player of the year for 2 years, reached the world cup final in 98 and won it 02(joint top scorer with Ronaldo, till the final were he set up both goals for him). The only reason you rate zidane is because of his high-profile transfer to Real Madrid. If you watched a the games he played in Spain, Brasil and for the national team, I bet you'd change your mind and realise that he had a long and brilliant career

I don't necessarily agree that he was better than Zidane; you are watching one of his best performances ever against a strong side with a then world-class keeper- some bias here. But there is no doubt this is one of the most memorable matches ever. And this win secured their UCL participation the following year, making it all the more important. The reason why he may never stand as an equal to Zidane is because he only had 3, maybe 4 good seasons + 1 world cup & 1 copa america.
