Actually yes. I'm sorry, but in any sport (especially the olympics) there is a degree of respect, not only for the sport but for the opponent. In fencing, originating in life or death combat, losing that respect is losing part of the art. That gets thrown by the wayside a lot now days. I can say that in a real duel, if I killed or hurt someone I wouldn't be dancing about it like a clown. It is a game, yes. But that reaction is embarrassing, to the player, the sport, and the medal.

I have heard that there should be a standard and consistant flex of the blade in a rainbow fashion to discourage metal fatique. If it allowed to flex back and forth it has a better chance to snap. Fatalities in fencing can occur from broken blades. Just a thought.

Actually, shooting a pistol applies well to fencing tactics. When you are dialed in with those tactics, you don't need the sights on a pistol or raise that weapon to eye level. Consider also that pistols misfire and can run out of bullets. Also the most elite military operators in the world prefer a blade over other weapons. They are quiet. Check out Brock Samson. Is he gay too.

What u mean about their attitudes? because they whine when they get hit or celebrate a touch in their opponent's face? This was in Athens 2004, i wouldn't care about attitude... the medal is more important :P

Women are FORCED to use chest plates, in the tournaments if women don't use them they can't participate, so don't worry about the boobs :P
